DO-IT-YOURSELF YARD RULES

Thank you for choosing Delta Marine YachtCenter as your repair facility. This marina has pledged to keep California’s waterways free of harmful chemicals, excess nutrients and debris. To fulfill that pledge, we require that all repairs be performed in the vessel maintenance area in the yard. We require adherence to published best management practices(BMPs) to prevent environmental pollution. In order to maintain a safe and clean facility, we ask that you comply with the rules governing use of the boat yard.

Hours of Operation and Outside Contractor Requirements

  • The yard is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., six days a week.
  • Please keep noise to a minimum at all times.
  • All outside contractors must report to the YachtCenter office with acceptable proof of liability and Workers’ Compensation insurance before starting work on any vessel. Outside contractors must abide by all of the YachtCenter’s rules and regulations and must have a signed copy of this form on file with our office.

Haul and Launch

  • It is your responsibilty to open and close all seacocks. You must inform the YachtCenter the location of any underwater mechanisms or assume responsibilty if they are damaged during haulout.
  • We must have access to the interior of your boat when it is hauled or launched.
  • You must provide dock lines and fenders for launch.

Please Keep it Clean

There is a $100 minimum charge if YachtCenter employees have to clean up after you or your outside service contractors.

  • Dustless sanders and grinders are required. A dustless sander is available for rent from the YachtCenter office.
  • Use tarps or filter fabric under your boat to collect paint chips and other debris.
  • Use drip pans with all liquids.
  • Store waste solvents, rags, and paints in covered containers and dispose of them responsibly a way from the YachtCenter.
  • No washing or cleaning of painting tools and equipment at the yard.
  • No washing paint covered or greasy hands or using solvents in the restrooms.

Waste Disposal

  • Do not place used plastic and tarps in the dumpster. Roll them up or fold them up and stack them beside the dumpster.
  • Do not put oil, fuel or anti-freeze in the dumpster. See YachtCenter personnel for instuctions on waste oil recycling.
  • Do not pump or drain bilge waste, fuel, oil, anti-freeze, ashore or afloat. Collect for hazardous material handling and see marina personnel for disposal information.

General Operating Rules

  • No sanding or painting over the water.
  • Report all spills, accidents, or incidents to YachtCenter personnel immediately.
  • We do not loan tools. But some tools are available for rent.
  • We do not allow live aboards on land.
  • No unattended heaters on vessels in the yard.
  • Please disconnect your water hose and electric cords at the end of each work day.
  • In accordance with Fire Code requirements, boats in dry storage cannot be left plugged in the shore power while unattended.
  • No smoking is allowed in any marina buildings.
  • If you bring your pet, it must be kept on a leash at all times and you must clean up after it. All pet waste is to be bagged and disposed of in the dumpster. We reserve the right to require that any pet be excluded from the premises if these policies are not adhered to.
  • Boat stands may not be repositioned by anyone other than yard personnel. The stands will be moved, at your request, for a charge of $20 per boat.
  • We do not loan ladders or extension cords, and we are not responsible for your ladders left in the yard.
  • A fee of $25 will be charged for each check returned for insufficient funds.
  • We do not haul wooden.

You understand Delta Marine YachtCenter assumes no liability for any loss, damage, or injury to your boat or to you, your family, invitees, servants, or employees. Further, you and your vessel will indemnify and hold harmless Delta Marine YachtCenter from any cost, expenses, damages, and against all claims, demand, loss, damage, or liability that may be asserted by anyone due to:

  • Property loss of any type, property damage due to fire, theft, collision, or property loss from any other cause to your vessel, motor, sails, furniture, equipment, tackle, or apputenances, or to any other property contained in or on your vessel or on the marina premises; and
  • Any personal injury, death, or illness arising from the occupancy or use of the marina premises or facilities, where such injury or damage is caused in any part, regardless of how slight, by your acts or omissions, or those of your agents, servants, invitees, or employees; and
  • Any alleged damage or loss to marine property, non-marine property, or personal injury caused in part, regardless of how slight, by you, your agents, servants, invitees, or employees. You covenant and agree that you have in full force and effect a marine insurance policy of a “named perils” or “ all risks” type that fully insures the value of your vessel and property, and a third-party liability policy, also known as a P & I policy . If you are an outside contractor, you covenant and agree that you have in full force and effect general liability and Workers’ Compensation insurance acceptable to Delta Marine YachtCenter and that you have filed evidence of such coverage with the marina office before commencing any work in YachtCenter on any vessel at this facility.
  • By signing this release, owner assumes full responsibility for the structure of his/her boat while Delta Marine YachtCenter is servicing it.

PAYMENT POLICY

Delta Marine YachtCenter requires all boats entering our Do-It- Yourself Yard to have a major credit card on file for payment assurance.

We do not accept debit bank cards for this service.
